Clipper and the Fairtrade Tea Tale
As pioneers of Fairtrade tea, at Clipper we were delighted to see Simon Reeve’s sensitively handled BBC2 documentary on ‘The Tea Trail’ and his summary call to action to the UK tea drinking public to pay a little more for your tea.
In response. Jane Snell, Product Manager for tea at the Fairtrade Foundation set the challenge that “as tea drinkers we must also realise that every single one of those cuppas represents a powerful choice for change, if we choose it.”
Simon Reeve gave specific exposure to the smallholder tea growers and producers, beautifully showcasing the love, care and attention which go into the tea growing and the pride which goes into the production. At Clipper we believe that by paying slightly more for Fairtrade, tea drinkers are also getting a better quality, better tasting cup. So in real terms are we paying more or getting much more for our money?
