Healthy Desserts: Guilt Free Indulgence

There’s no denying it; here at Clipper, we like our tea and cake! We love a sweet treat (or two) but as the weather heats up and with holiday season in full swing, we’ve been looking for healthy-alternatives to some of our favourite desserts. You know, to make us feel less guilty for having double servings! We’ve found some tasty combinations which can do just that, so sit back with a cup of green and take a look at these delicious recipes – why not give them a try too?
Avocado and Chocolate Mousse
- 1 avocado
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 4 dates, pitted
Who knew avocado and chocolate could go together so well? It might sound strange, but this weird and wonderful chocolate mousse is packed with rich chocolatey flavours and you seriously wouldn’t know it contains an avocado! When you’re spooning down mouthfuls of this dessert you needn’t feel guilty either, which makes it all the more enjoyable. To make this pudding combine all of the ingredients into a blender, add a tablespoon of water and blend until smooth. De-li-cious!
Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
- Punnet of fresh strawberries
- 100g dark chocolate
This dessert is one of our favourites, because it’s easy peasy to make! For this simple but tasty treat all you need to do is prepare your strawberries by washing them and place your chocolate into a microwavable bowl and heat until melted (you might need to stir it a few times to help it melt!). Then simply dip your strawberries into the melted chocolate and store in the fridge for around two hours to chill before serving. A perfect summer dessert!
